I’m a Third Culture Kid

(well, no longer a kid).

I was born in China, moved to South Africa when I was 10 and moved to the United States when I was 20. I got exposed to three different cultures, I’m fluent in two languages (English and Mandarin) and obtained two accents for English (South African and American).

After studying Marketing and Management at the Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania, I worked for 7+ years in the eCommerce industry, driving double-digit eCommerce sales growth, and collaborating with engineers, UX/UI designers and user researchers to create high-quality online shopping experiences.

At my old eCommerce company, where we wear all black for Black Fridays!

I transitioned to User Experience design in 2022 because I find it incredibly rewarding to understand why people behave the way they do, and then use the insights gained to design better solutions to the problems they encounter when using digital products. I believe that by improving people's interactions with the products they use, I can make a positive impact on their daily lives.

When I’m not immersed in the world of product design, you can find me humming the tune to my next original song (listen to my single Fragile Ego here), trying hard not to kill the only plant that’s still alive in my house, practicing yoga and meditation, or burrowing deep in a book for my anti-racism book club.
